Be Talk: Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick in Indiana Fusion

Brand: Chambor
Line: Powder Matte
Shade: Indiana Fusion (164)
Price: Rs 450

I got the fever of matte lipsticks since the last year-so much that in every cosmetics counter I only asked for matte lippys. My favorite shades are usually a variety of browns-especially peachy browns. However, I got thoroughly smitten by the Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick in the shade Indiana Fusion and it actually kick started my knack for reds!

What the Chambor Website says about this lipstick:

  •  Excellent moisturizing effect.
  • Emollients: For creaminess and comfort & gliding effect.
  • Long wearing & water resistant.
  • Has spherical powders to get the ultimate Matte Effect.
  • No Animal Ingredients.
  • Dermatological Tested.
  • Regular use of Powder Matte Lipsticks makes the Lips Soft & Healthy.

Me Talk:

The shade Indiana Fusion is brick or terracotta red in shade. This is one shade that simply rocks on wheatish skin.

Not only the shade, I rave about this lippy because of its superb creamy texture and full matte finish. The name is aptly called powder matte- because the lipstick gives a soft matte appearance. It has awesome pigmentation - it requires maximum 2 swipes to give full coverage. It can stay put all day long with meals in between. The best part is that in spite of its matte nature-it doesn’t dry lips-on the contrary-it keeps them soft all day long. However, naturally dry lips should nourished with a lipbalm before its use.

Pro Side

1) Superb pigmentation-gives an opaque finish
2) All day long staying power
3) Full matte texture. Lips don’t look caked.
4) Doesn’t dry lips
5) Makes the lips look fuller-doesn’t accentuate fine lines on lips
6) The shade Indiana Fusion is perfect for Indian skin tones. It will complement all skin tones from wheatish medium to fair.
7) Price although is bit on the higher side-but it’s worth every penny spent for. Check out for discounts at various websites
8) Some very beautiful shades are available in this range-I already have two others

Downside:
None

Be Talk: Celeb Style File: Anushka Sharma at the 2012 Colors Screen Awards

In the GS-Celeb Style File spotlight this week is Anushka Sharma -jazzing up in a hot red Bibhu Mohapatra dress and gorgeous makeup. The makeup break down has been narrated in full detail by stylist Puneet Saini as below: (Courtesy: Vogue Magazine)

"To complement the beautiful linear silhouette of Bibhu Mohapatra's gown we decided to  go with an edgy smoky eye and a neutral-coloured mouth," she said, of the makeup.

Skin: "The skin was prepped with a hydrating moisturiser to start with and was followed up with Photo Finish Primer from Smashbox." recounts Saini.

She followed through with Bobbi Brown Luminous Moisturizing Foundation in Warm Natural. Saini used M.A.C Stippling brush to make the foundation sheer. "This makes the foundation look like second skin. As Anushka has great skin, I wanted to keep it looking that way." says Saini. A minimum amount of M.A.C Pro Longwear Concealer and setting powder completed the skin routine.

Eyes: Saini started out with M.A.C Cream Colour Base in Hush to create a creamy base for the eye makeup.
"I used Black Track Gel Eyeliner from M.A.C to line the waterline and the inner rim of upper lash line to create depth." says Saini. She then used the same eyeliner on upper lid and blended it till the crease. This was topped with M.A.C Eyeshadow in Carbon, starting at the lash line moving upwards and stopped just short of the crease to keep it from getting too goth.

The lower lash line was then darkened with the powder eyeshadow and smudged with a small blending brush to create a smouldering effect. "I also went back with a black kohl pencil on the waterline to strengthen the black inside the eyes." says Saini.\

Cheeks: The cheeks were slightly contoured with M.A.C Mineralize Skin Finish in Dark.

Saini followed this with a combination of a pink and peach blush to give Sharma's cheeks a healthy look. "I highlighted the cheekbones with M.A.C Cream Colour Base in Hush to give the skin a dewy appearance." says Saini.

Lips: "I did not fuss much with the lips " says Saini, who moisturized Sharma's lips with Lip Mender from H2O. She then filled it Bronzelle, a nude lip pencil from Lancome and topped with Clear Lipglass from M.A.C "

I am happy that I could recognize all the products that was used (Big Deal!!) I loved the look-such smoldering eyes are what I dream of wearing perfectly  someday! The accessories are pretty too!

Time for your opinion ladies!!!

Be Talk: Maybelline BB Cream: My Experience

I was getting impatient to try out the BB cream-after I bought it more than a week ago. Now I believe that-to test the efficacy of any makeup-it must be worn for a full day outside-in the most sickest of weathers (no I dont want to mean that during cyclones or Earthquakes make the ideal testing environment :D) and exposed to all possible discomforts. I mean to say-makeup should be tested on a warm day-will loads of sun and travelling-or exposing to the environment that you work at-to know how good it is for you in real. So I just waited for a long day out and wore the Maybelline BB cream underneath Maybelline Satin Finish Foundation ( Not available here-got from Germany- Its an AWESOME product)

So this is what I felt after using the Maybelline BB cream:

1) It requires about 3-4 pumps or blobs (as below) to cover the full face-but not the neck.

2) At first- on applying-it settles as a white layer-which takes about 1 minute to get completely absorbed on the skin and then you cant find a trace of it

3) After this settled-I blended it somewhat with a kabuki and applied liquid foundation over it. I found that-I needed lesser foundation than I usually need. The foundation literally glided over my skin and I got myself a flawless finish with little effort.

4) The appearance of acne spots looks mitigated-I wont say covered or concealed or diminished-I think the BB cream created a smooth surface over them-and the blending of foundation was so nice that pigmentated areas became less visible

I have a few pimple and acne scars on this side of my cheek-which are not much visible after using the BB cream below foundationn no concealer is used
5) My face looked Bright-truly bright after applying foundation over this. Now although foundations cover up skin imperfections and hide many flaws-they dont really impart brightness to the complexion. So often they look cakey/patchy/splotched-for which actually the underlying skin is to be blamed for. I found that my skin really looked radiant after using this Brightness Benefit cream.

 6) I wore it during daytime-when there was plenty of Sun and the weather was warm. I traveled long and found that my skin was getting an oily shine slowly. I mean this slowly made my skin look sweaty. I had to use tissue paper to wipe the oilyness off. So people wanting a matte look-this isnt for you

7) I dint find this BB cream to break me out after the single use
8) The quantity of the cream would last me about 5 uses-but seeing the result I am happy for the price I am paying.
9) I dont know how it will fare in peak sultry summer-when nothing but water survives on skin!
10) For very oily skinned ladies-this BB cream may not be suitable.

Price:  1290 INR

Amount: 50ml

Oriflame's whitening anti-wrinkle care for all ladies 35+ and for all skin types

The range includes day cream and a night cream.

Ingredients listed
Tri - Peptide complex

Whitening complex

Hyaluronic acid

Anti aging skin care line using ingredients to plump natural levels of collagen within the skin. Oriflame has created this range using the state of the art technology that is a 100% natural tri peptide complex to boost skin's collagen production which in turn helps to eliminate facial wrinkles.

Ecollagen is proven to boost skin's own natural collagen production.

The tri peptide complex contains 3 natural peptides that are incorporated in the 3 products within the Ecollagen range.

An energetic peptide, a rice extract promotes cellular production with the anti-oxidant peptide , derived from wheat, to boost skin's self defense mechanism. And the collagen peptide for skin plumping which will aid the day, night and eye cream in 're-plumping' the areas prone to sagging and wrinkles.

Hyaluronic acid is known for its ability to reverse aging . It is often referred to as the key to fountain of youth. Hyaluronic acid is found in young skin. As we age, this gets destroyed. Diet and smoking also depletes or destroys this acid in the skin.

A beautiful n effective combination of these are sure to give the desired results in course of time....

I have been using this since June 2011 and saw that this combo worked well in reducing the marks on my face too.

I would have definitely repurchased but Oriflame has got so many other creams as well for my age. So I want to try out another cream this time....

This range is under 40% offer in Jan 2011. Would you like to try?

Be Talk: Celeb Style File: Bipasha Basu at the launch of Dabboo Ratnani 2012 Calender Launch

The Celeb Style post was long due-only because I could find no Bollywood star flashing that much of breathtaking-eyecatching-mousestopping (/wahaha) style in any recent events. I was becoming almost impatient-when I suddenly came across the Bong Bombshell Bipasha flaunting her 10/10 figure in a Dior Trenchcoat. The event was the launch of Dabboo Ratnani's 2012 Calender launch on 6th Jan this year.

The Dior trenchcoat is from the Spring 2010 collection. She has paired it with skinny jeans and peep-toe pumps. I quite like the style mostly because it is stylishly practical ! Not over the top but sophisticated in one word! I am inspired to look for such trench coats after seeing this! I love the way she has done the hair and the side-bangs she is sporting off late.  However I feel-this look is kinda more formal for evening parties.

She is wearing her patented dark and winged eyes paired with well defined eyebrows and falsies. She has also lined the lower lash line so the eyes get maximum definition. I find a peachy pink blush on her cheeks and a pink lipstick-topped with gloss. The makeup looks dewy. However-I feel Bipasha could have experimented with a bright lipcolor with this outfit-as the natural makeup paired with metallic-jacket-and-black pants combination is toning down her style fever somewhat! A bright red lipstick IMO would have looked great-just like the model-sporting the same Dior coat is wearing below!

As the rest of the outfit is not much bright-this dress, I guess is ideal for experimenting with bright makeup-especially if one is wearing it for the night.

Have your say ladies!!!

Be Talk: Maybelline BB Cream-Brief Review and Swatch

DRUMROLLS
The Maybelline BB Cream is Here
On My Hand!!!!

Call it hype-call it intense curiosity or call it a simple need for a Balm for Blemish -The Maybelline BB cream has got us waiting with bated breath for the last few weeks ever since we heard it coming! The last thing that sparked such intense interest among people was perhaps the new Bachchan Baby!!! ( Thats also BB :D)

As soon as I spotted it today in Shoppers Stop- I made a funny rush to the counter and yelled-BB CREAMMMMM!!!!!

I heard that the shipment arrived only today!

This is what I found out about the Maybelline BB cream over the Internet:

I am so sorry-my cam dint find a better time to bomb-I promise I will be posting better pics later!

Price: 199 INR

This is what is written on the back of the pack:

Infused with a good for you ingredients-talc, fairness complex moistiuriser and skin brightening minerals to 8 skin-transforming benefits.

Brigthens
Evens Tone
Protects
Hydrates
Freshens
Smoothes
Clarifies
Conceals Flaws

There are three shades available-1) Nude 2) Natural 3) Radiance

The nude is palest of all. Natural is the one I got. Radiance is cooler toned.

Me Talk:

I really need to test it thoroughly before I say anything conclusive about it. Even the SA at the shoppers stop told me with a smile-" Do tell us how it is after you use-its very recently launched product". The first impression was kinda surprising-as the BB of this cream actially stands for Brightness Benefit-rather than Blemish Balm. I dont know whether the name "blemish balm" has some copy right issues that the Maybelline BB cream acronym actually has the full form: Brightness Benefit! I am confused here-did Maybelline use the word BB cream to create the hype and then sell something entirely different that the real BB creams?? Dunno!!!

I find the container to be very small-its overall length is about 3.5 inches and the product amount is only 18ml. It is made in China. It says no oil, no pore clogging and suitable for sensitive skin. Whether it remains true to its claims-I needa check out.

Initially, I find it as a beige colored liquid with the consitency of a moisturizing lotion. I used it on the back of my palm and spread it. It settled down as a tinted moisturiser-with some white cast which was visible. I am not sure whether this cast is meant for concealing or creating the brightening effect.  This I think is supposed to be used as a base and topped with a foundation. That phase is yet to be tested- that how this BB cream accentuates the effect of foundation-whether it makes it stay longer-and whether the claim of 8rounds of benefit is actually true.

This is the final effect!

I tried to use it over some pimple marks to see whether it conceals the mark -I just found a whitish cast over them-not much of concealing effect was seen -but some brightness was definitely observed!!!

Will post more details once I use it for a whole day out with foundation!

BTW I had this today!
